Hi, people
For next class you should finish watching the video (and you should skip from 8,01 to 9,51. Also, don't watch the whole video: you should stop watching at 11.31) and do the photocopy I gave you (Mati, Mateo has yours).
In addition, you should read the pages that I will leave here.
See you on Monday
Love,
Meli

Assignment
Hi, beloved students.
These are the instructions for your assignment.
Have a lovely weekend.
Meli
UK Written assignment: Submission date: August 28th (A Wednesday; yeah)
1) Choose a topic of your interest that you believe shows a cultural aspect of the country you were given.
2) Gather information, analyse it and select that which is relevant.
3) Create a Google Doc document and share it with me at melisape@gmail.com . Remember all group members must participate. If they don't, those people won't pass the assignment.
3) Write an essay-like piece of 350 - 500 words, dividing the information into paragraphs and including a conclusion and an introduction (It's easier to do the introduction in the end because once the rest of the assignment is ready you know what your readers will read about). Make your piece easy to read, including connectors (I included a picture here to guide you) and bare in mind that in the piece you should justify why you believe the topic you chose shows an important cultural aspect of the country. It might come handy to read a newspaper article on the topic, to see how the locals feel about it. Find factual information (statistics, polls, etc) which are always useful.
4) Choose a topic sentence for your assignment (a topic sentence is a title which you will discuss. Examples are: Rugby in England: an ancient passion; Being Welsh means being bilingual; Scots are hard to kill etc). The title should summarize what the assignment is about and it should be creative (Don't go crazy, creative means that you shouldn't write: Sports in Wales. I'm not waiting for some Shakespeare here).
5) Include pictures if you think that they are relevant.
You can always ask me if you need to.
Good luck!
